Lewis Archie Cox, born November 18, 1934 in Cooke County, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2024, in Gainesville, Texas, just two months shy of his 90th birthday.

His parents were Thomas Lewis Cox and Ollie Atrice Roberts Cox.  Lewis married Marjorie Belle Sinclair on December 17, 1955 in Tioga, Texas and after her passing he married Clara Ann Morrison on October 12, 2001 in Gainesville, Texas. 

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Collinsville. Lewis was a veteran, having served proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Lewis is survived by his son, Thomas Cox and wife, Pam; son, Gene Cox and wife, Gigi; grandchildren, T.L. Cox and wife, Melissa, Karla Cox Johnston and husband, Cameron, Haley Cox Brown and husband, Tim, Patrick Cox and wife, Kendall, great-grandchildren, Gavin, Landon, Hudson, Abigail, Gracie, Carter, and Kenzie, brother, Cass Reasor and wife Sue, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ollie Cox, wife, Margie Cox, wife, Clara Ann Cox, sisters, Mazel Inez Cox and Billie Lucille Cox Lynch Bethel.

Graveside services honoring Lewis will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Collinsville.  A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
