Janene Sumner Aldridge, 80, of Whitesboro, Texas, was called to her eternal home on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Janene was born on March 28, 1944 in New York City, to KL and Dorothea (Wilson) Sumner.  

She graduated from Harrington High School in Pennsylvania and attended college at TCU in Fort Worth and SMU in Dallas.  

She was a member of the St. Michael All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas.  

Janene married James Aldridge on February 10, 1966 in Dallas, Texas.  She was a member of PEO Chapter A in Whitesboro, Texas, Zeta Tau Alpha, Jr. League of Dallas.  

Janene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Aldridge; daughter, Michelle Irby and husband, Bart; son, Casey Aldridge; daughter, Whitney Jo Weindorf and husband, David; son, Wilson Aldridge and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Barton Irby Jr. and wife, Mary, Trevor Irby and wife, Ellie, Luke Irby, Tyler Irby, Brittney Aldridge and husband, Daniel, Walker Weindorf, Camille Weindorf; great-grandchildren, Barton Irby III, West Irby, Taylor Irby, MiMi Irby, sisters, Kamie Hurd, Lisa Loucks; brothers, Trent Sumner, Kimble Sumner.
Janene was preceded in death by her parents, KL and Dorothea Sumner; brother, Keith Sumner; in-laws, Martha Jo Aldridge and Frank Aldridge Jr.

A memorial graveside service honoring Janene will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney.  At this time no formal visitation is scheduled.
