Sarah “Geneva” Galloway, 91, went to be with our lord Saturday September 7, 2024 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral was 10 am Thursday, September 12, 2024 at First Baptist Church Boyd with burial following the service at Dixie Cemtery in Sadler, Texas. Family received friends 6-8 pm Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Officiant was Bill Hughes. Pallbearers included Sarah Galloway, Allie Galloway, Samuel Galloway, Kelly Thigpen, Cody Galloway, David Kiepie and Tommy Galloway. Honorary pallbearers included Rick Wilson, James Wilson, Warren Wilson and Bill Wilson.
Geneva was born August 16, 1933 to Bessie Andrew and Myrtle May (Dyer) Wilson in Handley, Texas. After graduating High School she attended college for 2 years. Geneva married Clyde Leon Galloway on August 26, 1950 in Arlington, Texas. Geneva was a nursing home administrator and worked for the State for numerous years before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boyd. Geneva was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings; her husband of 56 years Clyde Leon Galloway; her sons Kenneth Galloway and Clyde Leon Galloway Jr. and her great-grandson John Patrick Kelly.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Joe Galloway and wife Carolyn, Lonnie Galloway and wife Linda; daughter-in-law Pam Galloway; daughter, Sharlene Sims and husband Danny; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
