Gladys Lucile (Lucy) Hill, 94, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to her heavenly reward on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Lucy was born on June 30, 1930 in Booneville, Arkansas to Charles Mathis and Gertrude (Mauzey) Leach.  

She married David Louis Hill on July 21, 1950 in Fort Worth and they were married for 67 years prior to his passing in 2017.  

She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro.  She loved sharing her faith with others.  

Lucy enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and traveling with her husband.  She was a strong Christian woman and loved her Lord and her family tremendously.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hill, son, David Wayne Hill, parents, Charles and Gertrude Leach, as well as numerous siblings.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Karen Walker and husband, John of Whitesboro; daughter, Karmen Grimes and husband, Dale of Salado; daughter-in-law, Judy Hill of Bedford; six grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services honoring Lucy will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro, officiated be Rev. Doyle Henderson and Rev. Dana Coker.  

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
