Johnny Welch

John (Johnny) Wesley Welch received his ultimate healing from a long battle with cancer when the Lord called him home Tuesday, February 20, 2024. 

John was a native Texan born in Muenster, Texas, February 8, 1949. John was raised in Gainesville, and Whitesboro, Texas. 

While growing up he and his family attended First Baptist Church Whitesboro where he accepted Christ. 

He graduated Whitesboro High School and attended Junior college before serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1969-1971. 

After his honorable discharge from the Army, John attended college and graduated from North Texas State University with a B.S. in Life and Earth Science and Health Education. 
John later worked at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Western Currency Facility in Ft. Worth where he retired in 2017. 

John resided with his wife Connie in Keller, Texas and attended First Baptist Church Keller. John was a Bible Study Director and Veterans Ministry Leader. 

John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Connie; their son, Andy; daughter, Laurie; daughter in love, Patricia; son in love, Stephen; his granddaughter, Victoria and family; grandson, Dylan and wife, Emily, their new arrival Bynalee; grandson, Ian; and granddaughter, Emma. 

He is also survived by his brother, William Welch and sister in love, Sharron from Whitesboro; his brother, Jimmy Welch (deceased) and sister in love, Linda Welch. Also, by his sister in love, Jane McEndree; brother in love, Michael Little; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. John’s parents were Charley and Lenora Welch (both deceased) of Whitesboro. 

Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2024, 5-7 p.m. at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, 10:00 a.m. First Baptist Church Keller.
