Florence Elizabeth ‘Mazie’ Dailey

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Florence Elizabeth Dailey, also known as Mazie. She passed peacefully on April 8, 2025, at Wesley House Assisted Living in Gainesville, Texas.  

Mazie was born on July 9, 1941, in Crockett, Texas, to parents Charles and Zilpha Dailey.

She was a resident of Whitesboro, Texas. She was a graduate of W. H. Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas.     

Mazie is survived by her two sons, Wayne Lindsey and daughter-in-law Stephanie Lindsey of Gainesville, Texas; Dan Lindsey and daughter-in-law Susan Lindsey of Sherman, Texas; two granddaughters, Amber Cline of Gainesville, Texas, who preceded her in death; Natalie Miller and husband, Jeremy Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana; one grandson, Chase Lindsey and wife, Alesia Lindsey of Sherman, Texas. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Louise Mann; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Mazie worked for the Cooke County and Grayson County Appraisal District(s). She retired in 2020 at the age of 78. Mazie loved to grow flowers and read. She greatly loved her sons, her daughters-in-law, and grandkids.  

Her children would like to express special thanks to the Wesley House and Concho Hearts Hospice staff(s) for providing exceptional care and loving support during Mazie’s three-year residency. She was very special to her caregivers, and she loved them very much.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.

There is no service planned, but there will be a celebration of Mazie’s life scheduled May 31, 2025, at 2205 Mesquite Street in Gainesville, Texas. It is come-and-go from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
