Erika Wood Cherry

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Erika Wood Cherry, who left this world on March 5, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on April 22, 1949, in Dexter, Maine, to Gerald and Anna Hall, Erika’s early years were shaped by a life of travel due to her father’s service in the Air Force. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1967, where she was proudly named the FFA Sweetheart.

Erika’s adventurous spirit led her to a career as a stewardess with Braniff Airlines before she found her true calling in real estate. For 36 years, she was a dedicated and accomplished realtor with Ebby Halliday, earning numerous prestigious accolades, including Ebby Halliday Star Achiever, Platinum Achiever, Platinum Plus Achiever, and Diamond Achiever. A Multi-Million Dollar Producer and a Five-Star Professional for 12 consecutive years, Erika’s expertise and dedication were evident in her professional designations, including Senior Residential Specialist (SRES) and Military on the Move Certification (US MOM).

In 1993, Erika met the love of her life, J.C. Cherry. Their bond was undeniable, and on March 21, 1998, they joyfully united in marriage in Plano, Texas, embarking on a beautiful journey together.

Erika was a devoted mother to her two children, Nicole Wood Robertson of McKinney, Texas, and Erik Wood and his wife, Sarah, of Celina, Texas. She took immense pride in being a loving grandmother to seven: Macie Neudorf and her husband, Garett, of Lubbock, Texas; Kierra Artrip and her husband, Matthew, of Celina, Texas; Ashlyn Clark and her husband, Mason, of Whitewright, Texas; Camden Robertson of McKinney, Texas; Annika Robertson of McKinney, Texas; and Ava Wood of Celina, Texas.

She is survived by her sister Rosie Weiss of McKinney, Texas and her brother Robert Hall of Collinsville, Texas.
Erika is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anna and Gerald Hall of Sherman, Texas, and her dear grandson, Garett Stephens of McKinney, Texas.

Erika’s life was guided by her deep faith, which was the foundation of her love, kindness, and generosity. She found strength and comfort in her relationship with God, and her faith shone through in the way she cared for others. She treated every real estate client like family, building lasting relationships with warmth and integrity. Her kindness extended beyond her profession, as she was deeply committed to charitable giving, always seeking ways to uplift those in need. She lived with a servant’s heart, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and compassion that will be cherished forever.
