Emma Lorraine Cox Thompson, 97, of Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly of Whitesboro, was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Lorraine was born on October 7, 1927 in Santa Rita, NM to George Dewey and Nancy (Abbott) McCormick.  

She worked for Gibsons Discount Center in Wichita Falls for many years. Lorraine enjoyed making and sewing quilts and doing ceramics.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Dean Moser and husband, Bobby; son, Dewey Leon Cox and wife, Bessie; grandchildren, Michael Gaver, Shane Moser, Susan Sessions, Kevin Cox, Rebecca Wise, Robin Moody, and David Leon Cox, eleven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nancy McCormick, husband, Alvis Leon Cox, granddaughter, Laurie Ann Pliska, and granddaughter, Farrah Moser.

Graveside services honoring Lorraine were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Terry Barnett. No formal visitation was planned.
