Roy Andrew Blair was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 27, 2025, at 89 years of age.
Roy was born August 28, 1935, to Henry and Edna Sandifer Blair in Tioga, Texas. He was the youngest of five children.
Roy graduated from Tioga High School in 1954 and married Nancy Carlyn Hall Blair on November 19, 1954. They celebrated 70 years of marriage this past November. They had two children, Royce and Diane.
Roy retired in 1994 from Mobil Oil Company in Dallas after 40 years of service. At 70 years of age, he continued to work as a security guard at Lake Kiowa for 15 years, and for a short time at Tyson in Sherman until he was 86 years of age.
He enjoyed boating and fishing, and playing dominoes, cards and cornhole with his friends and family.
Roy is predeceased by his parents, Henry Andrew Blair and Edna Annie Sandifer Blair; his four siblings Onita Cook, Darwin Blair, Bernice McKnight, and Marlin Blair; and his son, Royce Lynn Blair.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carlyn Blair; his daughter, Nancy Diane Clingan, and husband, Terry of Sherman; grandson, Henry (“Hank”) Carl Blair, and wife, Joni of Aubrey; granddaughter, Elayna Yukino Blair Roddy, and husband, Chance; three great-grandchildren, Logan and Hannah Blair, and Roman Royce Latimer Roddy; several nieces and nephews, and his friends.
A graveside service honoring Roy will be held at 2:00pm, on Friday, January 31st at the Collinsville Cemetery, to be officiated by Ricky Patterson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas.
