Anyone struggling with difficult emotions this holiday season is welcome at the Whitesboro First United Methodist Church for a Blue Christmas service at 6 p.m. on Dec. 21.
While the holiday season can be filled with joy and celebration for many, for others, it can be a time of sadness, loneliness or anxiety. Recognizing the challenges that people face during this time of year, more than 70 United Methodist churches across the Horizon Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church - stretching from Sulphur Springs, to Round Rock, to the top of the Panhandle - are hosting Blue Christmas services, offering a warm and welcoming place for those who are struggling.
Blue Christmas services provide space for individuals to acknowledge their difficult emotions, connect with others who share similar experiences and find hope and comfort.
If you’re interested in attending the Blue Christmas service, talking with a church leader or interviewing a community partner, please contact Pam Hughes, Horizon Texas Conference Director of Communications, at 972-526-5108 or [email protected]
