Mark your calendars and get ready to embrace the magic of the season. The Whitesboro Community Choir, now celebrating its 10th season, invites you to their annual Christmas Concert on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. This holiday event will take place at First Baptist Church, 124 Center Street in Whitesboro, where music and community come together to ring in the joy of Christmas.
This year’s concert promises to be more special than ever, with the first-time addition of a Handbell Choir. Under the direction of Linda Harris, the Handbell Choir will accompany the choir on one song and perform a couple of beautiful handbell arrangements on their own.
The Whitesboro Community Jazz Ensemble will return to the stage with their jazzy performance of two Christmas song favorites, as well as provide instrumental accompaniment for one of the choir’s songs.
The Whitesboro Community Choir was founded by director Susie Meals and began their first season in August 2014. Plans are underway to commemorate their 10-year anniversary in the spring.
The choir is under the direction of Meals and co-directors Jackie Mitchell and Brenda Warren. The concert is complimentary and open to all.
Following the performance, a reception hosted by House of Brews Coffee House, The GFWC History Club of Whitesboro and the GFWC Lake Areas Woman’s Club will offer a wonderful chance to connect with attendees and the performers.
Sponsors of this year’s Christmas Concert are Holiday Auto Group, THR Painting – Remodeling & THR Lights, House of Brews Coffee House, The GFWC History Club of Whitesboro, The GFWC Lake Areas Woman’s Club and EXP Realty – The Meals Team.
If you’ve never attended this annual Christmas Concert, now is the perfect time to experience the magic firsthand. Mark your calendar for this festive evening, share the joy and help spread the word about this wonderful event.
