Tioga’s 13-year-old Eli Gengenbach has won the Junior Showmanship National award at the recent International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association’s National Championships. The competition took place Nov. 5-9 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth. Gengenbach showed Rompedor Badia, an 8-year-old Pura Raza Española recently imported from Spain, and won the contest in a field of highly skilled and talented young people and horses. This was Gengenbach’s first time handling Rompedor Badia for Tailwinds Farm. This championship puts him in the lead for Horse of the Year standings in all junior disciplines in the United States Equestrian Federation.
