Ingredients:
- 35-40 saltine crackers (approx. 1-1/2 sleeves)
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a 10x15 baking sheet with aluminum foil & spray with cooking spray.
2. Place your saltine crackers in even rows and set aside.
3. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together and whisk constantly, letting boil for 3-4 minutes.
4. Pour mixture over the saltines and spread evenly. Bake in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and let sit for a few minutes.
5. Spread chocolate with a spatula and top with the chopped pecans and let harden. Cut into pieces and serve. Best stored in refrigerator.
Notes: can substitute pecans with other nuts, crushed peppermint, sprinkles, coconut, candy, etc
