The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce (GACC) 90th Annual Christmas Parade will light the way down California Street as participants make their way from the Santa Fe Depot to Weaver Street.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024.

Over 50 entries have already been working hard in Santa’s workshop to bring the community an unforgettable evening filled with Christmas lights, creative floats, and of course, Santa.

“We hope everyone has been extra nice this year because Santa will be joining us once again to light the Christmas tree at the courthouse as he cruises by,” GACC President Jennifer Shumate said. “Santa will also be at the Farmers Market after the parade for anyone wishing to get a picture with him.”

Attendees looking to get a viewing spot on the parade route should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Families can see the parade from both sides of California Street beginning at Lindsay Street all the way to Weaver Street.

Businesses, organizations and individuals can still enter the parade by submitting an application either online or by visiting the Civic Center for a paper application. Pre-registration is required and the deadline for entry is Friday, Nov. 22, 2024 by 5 p.m. Registration forms and parade guidelines may be found on the GACC website at www.gainesvillecofc.com.
