WISD to host free Veterans Day program

WISD to host free Veterans Day program
On Nov. 3, the GFWC History Club of Whitesboro, with the help of 20 volunteers, placed around 750 flags on the graves of Veterans at Oakwood and Dixie Cemeteries in Whitesboro. This annual service prepares the cemeteries for Veterans Day on Nov. 11.

The Whitesboro High School (WHS) Fine Arts Department will host a special Veterans’ Day program on Nov. 11 for all Whitesboro Veterans.

The Veterans’ Day program is open to all Veterans in the community. Attendees do not need to have a student enrolled in WISD to attend.

This district-wide program will begin at 8:15 a.m. with breakfast at Whitesboro Intermediate School (WIS).

At 9 a.m., everyone will be escorted to the high school for an hour-long celebration beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The program will be held in the gymnasium with the high school student body. While this event is entirely free for Veterans to attend, the district requests that all attendees RSVP to ensure plenty of food and seating for guests.

To reserve a spot for this event, please contact Angela Wolf at WIS at 903-564-4180.

See more Veteran appreciation on page 8 of this issue.
