On Oct. 10, the Whitesboro High School tennis team earned the title of Area Champions after a 10-3 win against Keene. Five days later, the season ended with the team as 4th seed in the district, bidistrict champions and regional quarterfinal qualifiers. Congratulations to these hard-working student athletes!

Bearcats roll against Dallas A+
The Whitesboro Bearcats showcased some offense Friday on the road when thye shutout Dallas A+ Academy 71-0.
Sophomore quarterback Colt Fagan put on a clinic. 
He was 6-of-7 passing for 163 yards and two touchdowns and also ran four times for 27 yards and a TD.
Brayden Bomar had four catches for 107 yards and a touchdown and returned a fumble 76 yards for another score. 
Taegan Oakley ran six times for 112 yards and a score. 
Rip Harper had nine carries for 30 yards and two scores. 
Wyatt St. John had 57 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
Mason Scarbrough had a 44-yard TD catch.
Colby Lamb also scored on the ground.
The win took Whitesboro to 5-3 on the year and 3-1 in district.
Friday night’s win broke the school record for points for the second time this season, surpassing the 70 in a win against Life Oak Cliff earlier this month.
The Bearcats can secure a playoff spot with a win tonight at home against Pilot Point.

C’ville levels Era 
The Collinsville Pirates are undefeated on the year and show no signs of slowing down. They pounded Era 58-12 Friday night on the road. 
Sophomore quarterback J.J. Jenkins completed 17-of-19 passes for 313 yards and three scores. 
Chad Davidson had 153 yards and a touchdown on five catches.
Garrett Trevino had two carries for 57 yards and two scores. 
Peyton Davidson had two catches for 68 yards and a TD.
He also logged a 54-yard pick-six. 
Jaxon Spivey had four catches for 52 yards and a score. 
Brandon Cantu finished with five carries for 71 yards and a TD.
George Light returned another interception 48 yards for a touchdown for Collinsville.
The Pirates host Muenster tonight to determine first place in the district standings.

Bells beats S&S
The S&S Rams fell to 0-8 on the year after a 51-0 road loss to Bells Friday night. 
Hunter Courville ran seven times for 32 yards and completed 5-of-17 passes for 29 yards with one interception for the Rams. 
Adam Mutz had two catches for 24 yards. 
The Rams, who have lost 24 straight games and 18 consecutive district matchups, will host Gunter on Friday.

Tioga topples Alvord
The Tioga Bulldog football team remains undefeated in district play after a 50-24 win over Alvord Friday at home. 
They also clinched a playoff berth and are tied with Wolfe City for the top spot in the standings. 
They host Wolfe City tonight. 
Bulldog quarterback Rocky Urich completed 19-of-32 passes for 313 yards and four touchdowns.
Seniors Johnny Dorpinghaus had seven catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Gage Anderson had 62 yards and two TDs on two catches. 
He also ran eight times for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Jonathan Hernandez had six carries for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Greeley McAden had three catches for 55 yards and a TD.
Jake David had three catches for 56 yards.

Tioga loses to Whitewright
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team ended the regular season Friday with a road loss to Whitewright in three sets (26-24, 25-15, 25-16).
Tioga enters the playoffs at 5-5 as the second seed for the Division II bracket.

C’ville sweeps Sam Rayburn
The Collinsville Lady Pirate volleyball team ended the regular season Friday with a sweep of Sam Rayburn (25-11, 25-12, 25-15) at home. 
Jaydee Matlock led the Collinsville attack with 11 kills.
Caelyn Scott had nine kills.
Tessa Vannoy offered eight kills, 11 digs and three aces.
Paige Davidson offered 33 assists.
Reece Elvington had 10 digs for Collinsville.
The win took Collinsville to 21-18 on the year and 8-2 in district.
They start the postseason as the top seed for the Division II bracket.

Lady Pirates top Tioga
The Collinsville Lady Pirates are peaking at the right time and playing their best volleyball of the year. 
They have won six straight and took down the Tioga Lady Bulldogs on the road last week (22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-18) in district action to secure a second-place playoff berth.
Caelyn Scott, Jaydee Matlock, Tessa Vannoy, Reese Patterson and Paige Davidson combined for an impressive team effort by Collinsville.
The win took the Lady Pirates to 20-18 on the year and 7-2 in district. 
They ended the regular season Friday at home against Sam Rayburn.
Kyndall Whitley, Kennedy Slay, Kaitlyn Garrison and Ella Norwood led the effort for Tioga.
The loss took them to 20-24 on the year and 5-4 in district.
They ended the regular season Friday at Whitewright.

Lady Cats pound Paradise
The Whitesboro Lady Cat volleyball team swept Paradise (25-18, 25-23, 25-21) last week on the road to hold onto the fourth-place district seed. 
The win took Whitesboro to 21-16 on the year and 5-5 in district play. 
They hosted Valley View on Friday.

Lady Rams top Howe
The S&S Lady Ram volleyball team topped Howe in four sets (18-25, 25-17 25-17 25-18) last week on the road.
The win took S&S to 16-22 on the year and 3-8 in district. 
They had a district bye on Friday.
Having been eliminated from the post season, they ended the season Tuesday at Leonard.
Results were not available as of press time.
