In honor of Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11, the Whitesboro High School (WHS) Fine Arts Department will hold a district-wide program for all Whitesboro Veterans.
This special day will begin at 8 a.m. with breakfast at Whitesboro Intermediate School (WIS). At 9 a.m., everyone will head to the high school for an hour-long program beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The program will be held in the gymnasium with the high school student body.
Middle school and elementary students will lead pledges, high school students will perform readings, and choirs and bands from Whitesboro’s different schools will perform patriotic music.
The program will conclude at 10:30 a.m.
“This year, the Fine Arts teachers are working together to build more of a cohesive department,” Fine Arts Coordinator Tonya Harper said. “We are all excited to come together and do this for our community.”
The Veterans’ Day program is open to all Veterans in the community. Attendees do not need to have a child enrolled in the school district to participate.
While this event is entirely free for Veterans to attend, the district requests that all attendees RSVP to ensure plenty of food and seating for guests.
To reserve a spot for this event, please contact Angela Wolf at WIS at 903-564-4180 by Nov. 4.
