The Collinsville Pirates advanced to 5-0 on the year with a 52-6 win over Coleman Friday night. They are off this week and open district Oct. 11 at Chico.

Bearcats open district tonight
The Whitesboro Bearcat football team opens district play tonight at home against Life Oak Cliff. 

The Bearcats are 2-2 on the year coming off a bye last week. 

Whitesboro opened the season Aug. 30 with a 48-25 win over North Lamar. They closed the non-district schedule Sept. 20 with a 27-24 clutch win over Commerce. In between, they dropped 18-6 to Bells on Sept. 6 and got shutout 58-0 by Graham on Sept. 13. 

The Bearcats are in a new district this year with Pottsboro, Pilot Point, Palmer, Life Oak Cliff, Dallas Madison and Dallas A+. Pottsboro, Pilot Point and Palmer all picked up wins last week. 
Across the district tonight, Pottsboro hosts Madison and Pilot Point hosts Palmer. Dallas A+ Academy has the bye. 

Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. tonight at Bearcat Stadium with Homecoming festivities on the schedule.

Pirates blowout Coleman
The Collinsville Pirate football team rolled to 5-0 on the year Friday night with a statement win (52-6) over Coleman at Graham. 

Sophomore quarterback J.J. Jenkins completed 29-of-43 passes for 327 yards and five touchdowns. Landry Spivey had eight catches for 74 yards and a TD. Carter Larance had a 66-yard TD catch. Jaxon Spivey had eight catches for 63 yards. Senior running back Garrett Trevino rushed six times for 40 yards and a touchdown. 

Brandon Cantu had 19 carries for 121 yards for Collinsville. Chad Davidson had 35 yards and a score on three catches. Caysen Schafer and Paxton Davidson also had touchdown catches.

The Pirates have a bye tonight. They open district play Oct. 11 at Chico.

Rams lose to Howe
The S&S Ram football team opened district play last week with a 56-14 loss to Howe at home. 

Joe Orr had four catches for 64 yards and a touchdown for the Rams. Hunter Courville went 7-of-18 passing for 84 yards and a score. He also had 12 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown. Eli Nortman had 11 carries for 27 yards. 

The loss took S&S to 0-5 on the year and 0-1 in district. It was the 21st straight loss for S&S.

They host Blue Ridge tonight.

Bulldogs pound Trenton 
The Tioga Bulldog football team bounced back from a loss to Edgewood last week to open district play Friday night with a 46-14 win over Trenton.

Senior quarterback Austin Norwood went 8-of-8 passing for 261 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 33 yards and a TD.

Senior Johnny Dorpinghaus rushed five times for 80 yards and a score. He also had three catches for 83 yards.

Slade Babbitt had a 46-yard TD catch. Greeley McAden and Jonathan Hernandez both also had touchdown catches.

The win took Tioga to 3-2 on the year and 1-0 in district. 

They host Tom Bean tonight.

Rams run at Blue Ridge
The S&S Ram Cross Country team took 12th place Saturday in the Blue Ridge Invitational. 

Donaven Gingras led S&S with a time of 18:58.44. He finished 24th. 

Parker Bigham was 39th in 19:32.37. Hunter Bigham was 51st in 19:51.42. Matthew Flores was 80th in 20:54.50.

Elisha Gentry was 127th in 24:29.51. Christian Cruz was 130th in 24:44.07. Caden Daniel was 139th in 26:12.06.

Lady Pirates hit a skid 
After opening district play with a win over Tom Bean on Sept. 24, the Collinsville Lady Pirate volleyball team dropped the next two. They fell to Trenton on Friday and got swept by Whitewright Tuesday on the road. 

The losses take Collinsville to 14-18 on the year and 1-2 in district. 

They look to bounce back tonight at home against Tioga.

Lady Rams sweep Howe
The S&S Lady Ram volleyball team swept Howe Friday (25-18, 25-22, 25-20) at home in district play.

The win took the Lady Rams to 13-18 on the year and 1-4 in district. 

They had a district bye on Tuesday.

Lady Bulldogs beat Sam Rayburn 
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team picked their first district win of the year Friday when they topped Sam Rayburn in four sets (25-23, 25-15, 20-25, 25-22) on the road. 
Sophomore Kennedy Slay led the attack with 12 kills and six aces.

Kaylee Evans, Kyndall Whitley and Ali Patterson each had eight kills each. Bella Dennis had 11 digs. Kenzee Powers contributed nine digs and three aces.

The win took Tioga to 16-21 on the year and 1-1 in district. 

They hosted Tom Bean on Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.


Lady Cats lose to Boyd
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat volleyball teams fell to 1-1 in district Tuesday, Sept. 24 after they were swept (25-17, 25-17, 25-17) by Boyd at home.

The loss took Whitesboro to 17-13 on the year and 1-1 in district. 

They host Paradise Friday.

Lady Pirates tame Tom Bean
The Collinsville Lady Pirate volleyball team jumped into district play Tuesday, Sept. 24 with a three-set win (25-20, 25-13, 25-13) over Tom Bean at home. 

The win took Collinsville to 14-16 on the year and 1-0 in district. 

They host Trenton Friday.

Lady Bulldogs fall to Trenton
The Tioga Lady Bulldog volleyball team opened district play with a three-set loss (16-25, 19-25, 25-20, 19-25) Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Trenton.

The loss took Tioga to 15-21 on the year and 0-1 in district. 

They travel to Sam Rayburn Friday.
