On Sept. 19, 2024, deputies were dispatched to the area of FM 902 and Taylor in Dorchester regarding a vehicle crash.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies encountered a subject, identified as Matthew Day, standing near the vehicle rolled onto its side. During contact with Day, deputies could smell an odor of burned marijuana.
According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found Day to be in possession of a firearm, marijuana and a substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with other pills. A search of Day’s criminal history showed him to be a convicted felon.
Day was booked for the narcotics charges and was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Unlawful Carry of a Firearm. He is being held on $196,000 bonds.
