On Aug. 23, Robby’s BBQ & Steakhouse welcomed around 100 invitees to attend a soft opening at their new location in Sadler. The event was an opportunity for the restaurant to showcase their menu, pricing and receive feedback on their food. Local chef and caterer, known professionally as Jedi Chef Stryker, attended the event and shared his review with the News-Record:

Good news for Grayson County and surrounding areas, but even better news for the small town of Sadler. Robby’s BBQ & Steakhouse, located at 29385 US 82, recently opened and is already wowing their customers.

The Jedi Chef crew made their way out for the soft opening. Even though it was a jam-packed, busy restaurant and they were just getting their feet wet, restaurant staff did a superb job.
All of the employees greeted every guest warmly, and it felt like the entire community showed up to support them.

The building, former home to The Ranch Cheer & Tumble gym, was simple with plenty of room, and -- most importantly -- the food was amazing. If the assignment was to make a smoked meat, then the fine folks out at Robby’s not only knew the assignment, but far surpassed it. Our steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly to order, and every bite melted in our mouths.

We tried a little bit of everything, from the smoky brisket and tasty hotlinks to the perfectly cooked on-the-bone ribs. Every plate of food came piled high with meat and sides, like potato salad, coleslaw and fried okra.

Even though my party swore that nobody had any room left, we put away a huge helping of banana pudding. It was rich, creamy and flavorful. You could feel the passion and love in their food. So, make your way out to Robby’s BBQ and Steakhouse.

However, if you’re not able to get out there soon, try the following tasty barbecue-inspired recipe at home.
