Two dead in 3-car crash Saturday night in W’boro
Three vehicles were involved in the accident that ended in two fatalities Saturday night on Hwy. 82 near the Whitesboro Middle School.

Three cars were involved in a collision on eastbound Hwy. 82 around 10:30 p.m. Saturday that resulted in two fatalities.

The accident involved six people, two of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were air lifted to area hospitals while the remaining two were uninjured.
Whitesboro Fire Chief Steve Pinkston said his team was required to perform two extractions at the scene.

The severity and complexity of this accident required the assistance of several first responder teams. In addition to Whitesboro Fire and Police, other groups who answered the call included Collinsville Fire Department, Cooke County EMS and CareFlight 5 and Air Evac Lifeteam 65 from Denison. 

“Strong work overnight by members of Whitesboro Fire and EMS, Whitesboro PD, Collinsville FD, Cooke County EMS and our Dispatch Center,” Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Patterson posted on his Facebook page. “Very tough call that was handled with teamwork, professionalism, and hard work. I’m very proud of everyone!”

Those listening to the emergency call on scanners could hear the toll of the scene in the voices of first responders as well as marvel at the teamwork and professionalism of those coordinating rescue efforts.

At press time, cause of the collision and details of the crash are unclear. The situation is currently under investigation.
