The North Central Texas Chorale invites all singers to join them for their upcoming performance of Joseph Martin’s “The Winter Rose Cantata.”

“The Winter Rose Cantata” takes listeners on an emotional journey, from the anticipation of Advent to the joyous celebration of Christ’s resurrection. Through lush harmonies and poignant narration, audience members will relive the miracle of Christmas like never before.

As a performer, imagine singing about the winter rose—a delicate flower that blooms even in the harshest season. Just like this resilient bloom, the chorale’s voices will blend to create something truly extraordinary. Each note carries the promise of hope, restoration, and eternal love.

Choirs are more than just vocal ensembles; they’re families. Joining the North Central Texas Chorale means forging lasting friendships, sharing laughter during rehearsals and creating memories that resonate long after the final note fades.

The chorale is under the direction of Clint Kelley, music teacher at Callisburg ISD. He received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at Tyler. From 2006 to 2007 he worked with the University of Nevada Reno Community Chorus prior to coming to Texas. Kelley is a creative concert planner who excels at motivating and inspiring singers.

Shirley Hatfield will be the chorale’s accompanist/organist this season. She has been the Organist-Choirmaster of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gainesville since 2009.

While there is no audition required to sing with the Chorale, they ask that singers have experience singing in choirs. The ability to read music and sing on pitch is also very helpful.
Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 7:00–8:30 p.m. in the Choir Room at the First State Bank Center for the Performing Arts. This building is on the North Central Texas College campus in Gainesville. Rehearsals will begin on September 3.
