After a historic season last year, the Collinsville Pirate volleyball team enters 2024 among the Top 10 in Class 2A— as predicted by the Texas Girls Coaching Association (TGCA) on Aug. 1.
The Pirates are ranked number 10 in Class 2A behind Weimar, Riesel, Johnson City LBJ, Nocona, Jewett Leon, Schulenburg, Windthorst, Crawford and Iola. Other area teams making appearances in the Top 10 include the Gunter Tigers at number two in Class 3A and the Celina Bobcats at number four in Class 4A.
The Pirates open the 2024 season with scrimmages today and tomorrow. Their season opens on Aug. 12 at Harrold before trekking to the coast for the Galveston Tournament.
District play opens on Sept. 24 at home against Tom Bean.
