Christofer Lopes-Contreras, 21, a citizen of Guatemala was arrested early on July 17 by deputies of the United States Marshals Service.
Lopes-Contreras was arrested in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Lopes-Contreras had a warrant for his arrest for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The warrant was issued by Southmayd Police on July 8, 2024.
Lopes-Contreras is currently incarcerated in the Prince George’s County Jail in Maryland pending his extradition back to Grayson County.
“Once again DA Investigator Don Tran has succeeded in tracking down and coordinating the arrest of another suspect accused of violence against a child,” Grayson County Criminal District Attorney Brett Smith said. “We also want to commend the U.S. Marshals Service for their cooperation in this apprehension.”
