Operation Christmas Child (OCC) will host two opportunities on July 20 to hear firsthand accounts from Area Coordinators who recently visited with recipients of shoebox gifts.
At 10 a.m., OCC Area Coordinators will be speaking at First Baptist Church in Bonham. Then, at 3 p.m., they’ll be speaking at Silo Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma.
Each year, OCC provides Vision Trips for Area Coordinators that allow them to see firsthand the profound impact of their work. These individuals had the unique opportunity to engage with children and families who receive shoebox gifts, seeing up close the joy and hope these gifts bring.
During these trips, Area Coordinators stepped into the other side of the shoebox journey, experiencing the tangible purpose behind each carefully packed box. They interacted directly with the recipients, sharing moments of happiness and hearing stories of how the gifts have touched lives and communities. This direct engagement has reinforced their commitment to OCC’s mission of spreading the Good News and Great Joy of Jesus Christ.
The Vision Trips are an integral part of OCC’s efforts to connect coordinators with the communities they serve. By witnessing the distribution process and the joy it brings, coordinators are inspired to continue their mission with renewed vigor and passion.
Everyone is invited to join the Area Coordinators as they share their impactful stories and personal engagements from these life-changing trips. Their experiences underscore the importance of each shoebox and the far-reaching effects of Operation Christmas Child’s mission.
Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, seeks to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world and, together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 220 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories.
