Earlier this year pastor Ken Hildebrand announced his coming retirement from Collinsville United Methodist Church (CUMC).

After seven years with the historic church--founded in 1878 with white wood sanctuary completed in 1920--Hildebrand concluded his final midday service on Sunday, June 30.

Recognition of his tenure included a choir performance of “Happy Trails to Ken,” written by church members and alluding to Ken and Sue Hildebrand’s longtime enjoyment of trail riding.
Hildebrand’s last day coincided with CUMC’s quarterly New Member Luncheon. A“Picnic Party” of fried chicken and tables of sides and desserts was held at the Collinsville Community Center, since a new church annex is under construction.

The program consisted of recollections of the Hildebrands’ time with the church and personal introductions of new members.

CUMC is preparing to welcome a new pastor, Rodney Ward, by next week.
