Nature lovers are sure to appreciate the June 29 butterfly garden stroll at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge (NWR).

From 10 a.m.-noon, stroll through the butterfly garden where docents will be on-hand to help identify the Texas native plants and visiting butterflies. Literature on plants and butterflies will be available, and special activities like scavenger hunts and the Metamorphosis Puppet are sure to engage visitors.

Meet at the Hagerman NWR Visitor Center at 6465 Refuge Road, Sherman, TX 75092. Registration is not necessary for this event. The garden is free of charge and open to the public from sunrise to sunset every day of the year.

The butterfly garden is also in need of volunteers. If you enjoy digging in your garden and learning about native plants, join Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners in maintaining the butterfly garden. Please email [email protected] for details about volunteering.
