What has become a Collinsville tradition is set for another installment Saturday morning downtown. The annual Pirate Island Rods & Rides Roundup car show will open registration at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18. The Top 30 show will run 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the downtown square with all proceeds benefiting the Noel and Jacquita Lewter Memorial Scholarship Fund.
“This has become a regular event and a great way to raise money for local scholarships,” event organizer Layne Lewter said. “Folks bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the day.”
The entire downtown square will be closed during the show to allow plenty of room for antique rides to line the streets. KGAF radio will host a live remote from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. capped off by a $100 cash prize giveaway. The Tioga FCCLA chapter will also be on hand hosting a bake sale. The proceeds will help send students to National competition in Seattle.
