On May 25 from 11 a.m.-noon, children can experience what life was like as a pioneer child.
At Frontier Village & Museum, kids can tour a real pioneer-era cabin and learn about what life would have been like for a child in the late 1800s. This interactive tour will give children a hands-on insight into early school life, simple childhood games and toys, farm chores and the struggles pioneer children faced.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for museum members. Admission fees help to preserve the pioneer homes and other historical exhibits in the village.
On May 29 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Frontier Village & Museum will host a session on learning how to write your family history. Gain an understanding of how to gather your genealogical research and format and compile it into a publication that will help preserve your family’s history for generations to come. Then, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., the Denison, TX Grayson County Genealogical Society will hold their monthly meeting. Speaker Bert Garcia will give a presentation on Quanah and Cynthia Ann Parker.
