S&S Elementary raises $10K for St. Jude Research Hospital
Mrs. Hilliard’s 2nd grade class raised $1,938.29 for St. Jude Children’s Research Center, the highest class total across the campus.

The students at S&S Elementary School pooled their pennies and raised a $10,000 donation for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The Pennies for Patients contest ran from April 22 to May 3. In just two short weeks, the school was able to raise a significant amount of money. Grade level classes with the highest totals were as follows:

Pre-K - Mrs. McDonald’s class with $134.67
Kindergarten - Mrs. Morgan’s class with $499.26
1st Grade - Ms. Griffin’s class with $1,061.78
2nd Grade - Mrs. Hilliard’s class with $1,938.29 (overall campus winner)
3rd Grade - Mrs. Champion’s class with $409.26
4th Grade - Mrs. Carden’s class with $1,211.78

The staff at St. Jude Research Hospital believes that every child deserves a chance to live their best life. They are dedicated to treating children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases while ensuring that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food.
