C’ville Meet the Candidates event slated for April 13

Author: Jessica Edwards

Members of Collinsville Get Out the Vote (CGOTV) is hosting a Meet the Candidates forum on Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m. at the Collinsville Community Center. This event is an opportunity for members of the community to learn more about the platforms of each candidate running for City Council in the May 4 election.

This year, Collinsville City Council has five open seats -- four two-year terms and one one-year term. The four candidates running for the two-year term seats are Brandon White, Tom Worsham (incumbent), Chase Guidera (who is currently serving an appointed term) and Jessica Orsburn. No one is running for the one-year term seat.

Austin Lewter, publisher of the Whitesboro News-Record, will serve as the event’s emcee while Ken Kemp, Walnut Bend ISD Superintendent and former Collinsville ISD administrator, will serve as moderator. The panel of candidates will be asked questions submitted by Collinsville community members, either emailed by April 12 to [email protected] or posed on-site at the event. Panel introductions and topic responses may be timed as they were at last year’s Meet the Candidates event.

All Collinsville community members, both voting residents and influencers who may not live within the city limits but have a vested interest in town, are invited to attend and participate in this informational panel discussion. Coffee and donuts will be served at 9:30 a.m.

Early voting begins April 22 and Election Day is May 4.
