Construction is well underway at Cedar Mills Marina & Resort with the rebuild of the marina’s beloved Ship’s Store in progress. According to operations manager Shamarie Hull, they are anticipating the opening of the main offices this spring and a grand opening of the Ship’s Store Boutique soon after.
This comes after months of waiting and planning following an electrical fire on March 7, 2023 that completely destroyed the Ship’s Store.
The Ship’s Store houses the main offices for the marina, providing check-in for the cottages, RV park and camping as well as information on pre-owned boats, mobile home sites and slip rentals. It also provides a store and boutique, where people can browse for souvenirs, forgotten vacation essentials, vacation wear like swimsuits, hats and shorts, and boat gear and supplies.
Hull said there have been subtle decisions made in the construction process, but the timeless Cape Cod feel and look will remain for the Ship’s Store.
Cedar Mills is also excited for the new growth in the Middle Cove. According to Hull, the Middle Cove is located just south of the Ship’s Store, where they will be introducing 50 new 30- and 40-foot covered boat slips. Hull said the newly constructed Middle Cove is tentatively scheduled to debut in late spring 2024.
“The decision to introduce additional covered slips stems from the outpouring of power-boating interests on Lake Texoma,” Hull said.
Hull said they encourage boating enthusiasts to contact the main office to get on the waitlist for the new boat slips. She said as the construction progresses, they will begin pre-leasing boat slips on an annual basis.
“As the anticipation builds for the grand unveiling of the Ship’s Store and new Middle Cove, the Cedar Mills crew is busy getting ready for a record boating season. We look forward to seeing our long-time customers and friends, along with meeting new people, and seeing new faces at the lake,” Hull said.
