Friends and members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) History Club of Whitesboro gathered at Catfish Haven last Saturday for a special luncheon to honor longtime member Liz Morelan for her years of service to multiple women’s organizations. Morelan, who turns 103 in April (shown above in purple seated behind cake), remembers joining the GFWC in Vernon, Texas, in 1963. She then transferred to the 21 Club in Denison and, in 1985, transferred to the History Club. She became an honorary member of the North Texas Woman’s Club in 2023. The luncheon was an opportunity to recognize Morelan for her ongoing support and contributions to the longevity and success of the organizations.
