A dispute between two brothers in Sadler escalated quickly, ending in a shooting that left one dead last week.
On February 2, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a shooting on Campbell Road in Sadler, Texas. Deputies and investigators responded to the scene.
Once there, they located 45-year-old Jimmy Kelly, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper body. Investigators attempted life saving measures including CPR, and EMS later determined the man to be deceased.
Through witness interviews, investigators determined that an argument took place between Kelly and his brother, 45-year-old Timmy Kelly.
Witnesses told deputies Jimmy entered his residence, returned outside with a rifle, and fired at Timmy.
Witnesses stated Timmy fired a single round back at his brother, striking him and causing his death. A search warrant for the crime scene was secured and the scene was processed.
At this time, no charges have been filed and investigators have determined there is no indication of a danger to the public.
This case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for review.
