Bearcats on a roll, look to clinch tonight

The Whitesboro Bearcat Basketball team topped the visiting Valley View Eagles with a 66-37 final Tuesday at home.

Whitesboro’s Max Hinsley led the attack with 23 points.

Dax Martin had 16 points.

Brayden Bomar scored 10 points.

Jacob Knight offered four points, 10 steals, eight assists and four rebounds.

The Bearcats held on to third place and can clinch a playoff berth with a win over Ponder tonight.

Lady Cats top Valley View

The Whitesboro Lady Cat basketball team was equally as dominant over Valley View Tuesday night. 

They beat the visiting Lady Eagles 52-25.

Olivia Hildebrand led the attack with 20 points, five assists and four rebounds.

Allison Eldredge had nine points and four rebounds. 

Keely Hartless offered seven points and six rebounds.

Claire Ortiz had six points and five steals.

Izzy Gabbert landed 11 rebounds.

Melanie Baldwin had eight rebounds.

The Lady Bearcats clinched secured a playoff spot with the win and went to 9-3 in district play.

Rams fall to Boyd

The S&S Ram basketball team struggled to find stride Tuesday night and fell to Boyd 99-44.

Hunter Courville led the Ram effort with 11 points.

Joe Orr had eight points.

Joemar Dalayan, Daniel Hernandez and Logan Johnson each scored five points.

S&S Lady Rams steamroll Boyd

The S&S Lady Rams are reaching their peak performance of the season as they showed it with a 71-22 win over Boyd Tuesday night at home. 

Brenna Howard stood out with 30 points for the Lady Rams.

Starlyn Schnitker had 10 points for S&S.

They can clinch a playoff spot with a win at Valley View tonight

Pirates pound Bulldogs

The Collinsville Pirate basketball team topped Alvord on the road Tuesday with a 54-40 final. 

Landon Carpenter led the effort with 17 points and six rebounds.

Chad Davidson was close behind with 16 points, nine assists and six steals.

Colin Barnes had 13 points and seven rebounds.

Carter Scott had eight points and 14 rebounds.

The Pirates can clinch a playoff spot with a win at home against Muenster tonight.

Lady Pirates pummel Alvord

The Collinsville Lady Pirate basketball team took care of Alvord on the road Tuesday night with a 73-47 win. 

Ashleigh Ortowski led the attack with 25 points.

Jaydee Matlock had 19 points.

Reece Patterson scored 17 points.

Caelyn Scott had 10 points for Collinsville.

The Lady Pirates hosts first-place Muenster tonight.

Era takes care of Tioga

The Tioga Bulldog basketball team fell to Era with a 69-38 final at home Tuesday night.  

Tioga is 4-5 in district play and a half-game behind Era fighting for the fourth-place seed. 

Era edges Lady Bulldogs 

The Tioga Lady Bulldogs fell to Era with a 40-39 final at home Tuesday night.  

The loss has the Bulldogs in fifth-place in the district standings. 

Tioga is 4-7 in district and will end its season at Chico tonight because they have the district bye on Tuesday. 

The Lady Bulldogs need to win and have Era lose its last two games to force a tie for fourth place and— in turn— a play-in game to get in the post season. 

Friday, Jan. 26

Bearcats edge Boyd

The Whitesboro Bearcat basketball team did what they needed to do and came home with a 36-35 win over Boyd Friday, Jan. 26

Max Hinsley led the Whitesboro attack with 14 points and 12 rebounds and the Cats held on to the third-place seed with the win.

Brayden Bomar had 10 points and three rebounds.

Dax Martin had nine points and four rebounds.

Karter Sluder offered six assists.

The win took Whitesboro to 18-10 on the year and 7-2 in district.

Lady Cats top Boyd

The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat basketball team held on to the third-place seed with a 54-33 win over Boyd on the road Friday, Jan. 26. 

The win took the Lady Cats to 14-15 on the year and 8-3 in district. 

Rams fall to Pilot Point

The S&S Ram Basketball team suffered a 79-43 loss Friday, Jan 27 to the Pilot Point Bearcats. 

Ricardo Marquez and Joe Orr led the Ram effort with 15 points apiece.

Joemar Dalayan had three points for S&S.

The loss took the Rams to 6-20 on the year and 1-8 in district.

Lady Rams blowout Pilot Point

The S&S Lady Ram Basketball team dominated Pilot Point with an 82-11 win on Friday, Jan. 26. 

The win took S&S to 16-12 on the year and 7-4 in district.
