Despite best efforts to block their Muenster opponents, Tioga ended Saturday's game with a 56-32 loss.

Cats 1-1 on the week, S&S drops 2

The Whitesboro Bearcat basketball solidified their spot in the top of the district rankings with a 74-41 over S&S on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Max Hinsley led the Bearcat attack with 16 points.

Jack Hinsley offered with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Dax Martin had 13 points.

Brayden Bomar tallied 12 points.

Jacob Knight was close behind with 10 points and 10 assists.

Ricardo Marquez hit five three-pointers for the Rams and finished the night with 17 points.

Hunter Courville had nine points.

Joe Orr offered seven points.

Caiden Jones scored six points for S&S who fell to 1-5 in district ahead of Friday’s bout match-up against Callisburg. 

It was all Wildcats in that affair as the Rams fell 63-41. 

Orr had 16 points and three assists.

Melton added eight points, four assists and three steals.

Logan Johnson was good for six rebounds for S&S.

The win took Whitesboro to 5-1 in district play ahead of Friday’s bout against Paradise. 

The Bearcats fell to 5-2 Friday with a 40-29 loss to Paradise. 

Whitesboro hosted Pilot Point on Tuesday night.

Paradise traveled to S&S. Results were not available as of press time. 

Lady Cats, Lady Rams both even on the week 

The Whitesboro Lady Cat basketball team is looking to rebound after a slow start to district play. 

They were able to stop to right the ship with a 50-20 win against the Tuesday, Jan. 16 at against the S&S Lady Rams.

Olivia Hildebrand led the Lady Cats with five three-pointers.

She ended the night with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Claire Ortiz and Allison Eldredge each had eight points.

Reagan Downs had five points.

Brenna Howard had six points for S&S.

Marlee Howard and Bri Fowler each had four points.

The loss took the Lady Rams to 5-3 in district play going into Friday’s homestand against Callisburg.

They were able to bounce back in that one with a 70-21 win over the Wildcats. S&S hosted Paradise on Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time. 

The win Tuesday took the Lady Cats to 6-2 in district play ahead of Friday’s bout against Paradise where they came up short 37-32. 

They hosted Pilot Point Tuesday. Results were not available as of press time.

Lady Bulldogs up and down 

The Tioga Lady Bulldog basketball team topped Alvord 47-31 Tuesday, Jan 16 at home.

But they took to the road and came up with a 63-36 loss to Muenster on Friday. 

Tioga (16-8, 4-4) hosted Lindsay on Tuesday night. Results were not available as off press time. 

Bulldogs fall to Muenster 

The third-place Tioga Bulldog basketball team lost against second-place Alvord with a 59-49 final in district action Tuesday, Jan. 16 at home.

Tioga was 3-2 in district, and tied with Collinsville in the standings, ahead of Friday’s 56-32 road loss to Muenster.

The Bulldogs hosted Lindsay on Tuesday night. Results were not available as off press time.

Both C’ville squads top Era 

The Collinsville Lady Pirates topped Era with a 50-32 final Friday night in district action. 

Collinsville (12-10, 5-2) travels to Chico on Tuesday night.

Era (17-10, 3-5) has the district bye on Tuesday before hosting Chico on Friday

The boys’ team was equally as successful over the Hornets with a 65-54 victory. 

Landon Carpenter led the Pirate attack with 21 points.

Chad Davidson had 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

Colin Barnes had 10 points.

Carter Scott offered seven points and 14 rebounds.

Both Pirate teams played in Chico Tuesday night.
