The Grayson County Fire Marshal’s Office is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information regarding a series of arson fires in the Southmayd area.
For the past 18 months, a series of fires involving multiple hay bales, fields and pastures have been plaguing the town of Southmayd and surrounding areas.
Most of these fires have occurred between 5 p.m. and midnight.
These fires are under investigation by the Grayson County Fire Marshal’s Office, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and the Southmayd Police Department.
Authorites believe that these fires have not been accidental.
“Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information ... that leads to the arrest and indictment for this felony offense and other felony offenses,” a statement from the Grayson County Fire Marshal’s Office read.
