WPL brings Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to W’boro

The Whitesboro Public Library has partnered with the United Way to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Whitesboro.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, regardless of the family’s income.
Launched in 1995, the program was initially intended to benefit children in Sevier County, Tennessee, where Parton grew up.
Since then, the program has gone international, providing books to millions of children worldwide.
“When I was growing up in the hills of East Tennessee, I knew my dreams would come true,” Parton was quoted as saying on the Imagination Library website.
“I know there are children in your community with their own dreams. They dream of becoming a doctor or an inventor or a minister. Who knows, maybe there is a little girl whose dream is to be a writer and singer.
“The seeds of these dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.”
Registration for the program is free and can be conducted online.
Simply visit imaginationlibrary.com and complete the four-step registration process. Upon completion, your registration will be reviewed by United Way.
You’ll receive a notification once you’ve been approved.
