On Tuesday, April 15, a special public hearing was held at Whitesboro City Hall, followed by the annexation of 60.2 acres of real property situated between US-56 and 4th Street.
According to the council’s agenda, this property is located along the south side of US-82, within the Whitesboro corporate limits.
Ordinance number 1234 was passed unanimously. There were no public comments.
This annexation of land was the next step in order to move forward with expanding Whitesboro Independent School District (WISD) property.
Next, an interlocal agreement between the City of Whitesboro and the City of Collinsville was approved for the use of fire department vehicles and equipment.
Then, the Council passed a resolution authorizing the publication of notice of intention in the Whitesboro News-Record. This is to issue certificates of obligation, Series 2025, and authorizing certain matters related thereto.
Moving forward, Ordinance 1236 amending the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget was passed. All were in favor. City Administrator Phil Harris explained the budget to the City Council so they can better understand it. He answered questions and clarified amounts on several items.
Lastly, expenditures exceeding the City Administrator’s authority in the amount of $23,960.00 were approved. These expenditures were for 2 Ab lift station pumps for $15,300 and two stream cameras for $8,660.00. Alderman Pack made the motion and Alderman Moore seconded. All were in favor and the motion carried.
