Cat runners take second at district
Both Whitesboro Bearcat varsity track teams took second place overall at last week’s district meet. 
The girls took second with a total of 122 points. The boys finished the same with 120 points. 
Zander Brannan won gold in the pole vault. 
Isabel Gabbert took first in the high jump. 
The girls 400 relay team of Shelby Riddle, Gabbert, La’ney Powell and Brynlee Weddle also brought home gold. 
Other gold medal finishers included Jack Hinsley, 110 hurdles; Gabbert, 300 hurdles; Wyatt Winchester, 300 hurdles and the girls 800 relay team of Riddle, Audrey Beam, Gabbert and Waddle. 
Silver medalists included the boys 400 relay team of Max Hinsley, Cam Howard, Rhet Rudzinski and Winchester; the 800 meter relay team of Howard, Jack Hinsley, Audan Brinlee and Colt Fagan; and the 1600 meter relay team of Howard, Fagan, Winchester and Max Hinsley. 
Shelby Riddle also won silver in the 200 meter. As did Weddle in the 400 and Beam in the 800. 
Varsity bronze medalists included Brinlee, 200; Max Hinsley, 400; Howard, long jump; Beam, high jump; Avery Howerton, long jump and Gabbert, triple jump.
Other area qualifiers— with fourth place finishes— include Jack Hinsley, 300 hurdles and long jump; Ayden Lasalle, shot put; and Paisley Blevins, 400 and 800.

Pirates on to Area 
Both Collinsville Pirate varsity track teams advanced multiple athletes to the area meet after strong finishes last week at district. 
The girls 4x400 relay team of Zoey Kays, Jaydee Matlock, Reese Patterson and Ashleigh Ortowski advanced to area. 
Fernando Perez took gold in the 3200 and will be joined at area by teammate Isaiah Smith.
The boys 4x200 relay team of Chase Sheppard, Paxton Davidson, Jaxon Jenkins and Peyton Davidson punched their tickets to area. 
As did the girls 4x200 relay team of Matlock, Ortowski, Kays and Paige Davidson. 
Patterson also qualified for area in the 100 meter hurdles. 
Smith took gold in the 800 meter. 
The boys relay team of Jenkins, Chad Davidson, Peyton Davidson and Paxton Davidson took fourth and advanced to area. 
Riley Steward advanced to area with a fourth place finish in the shot put. 
Matlock made the next round in the high jump. 
Kim Perez placed fourth in the 3200 and advanced to area.
The throwing duo of Russell Carney and Nick Cox swept the top two spots and moved on the area. 
Carney took gold in the shot put and discus. Cox took the silver medals in both events.

Lady Cats leave VV behind
The Whitesboro Lady Cat softball team shutout Valley View 13-0 Friday night at home and officially qualified for the post season. 
Avery Howerton threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and a walk.
She also went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and scored three times.
Bradi Gallaway went 3-for-3 with two home runs, two RBIs and three runs.
Cam Ortiz went 2-for-2 with a double, walked and scored twice.
Tylar Olsen went 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored.
Breighlin Rupert doubled, drove in two and scored once. 
Makayla Wolf singled, walked, drove in a run and scored.
Jentry Patterson and Emma Parish each drove in runs.
The win took Whitesboro 15-7 on the year and 8-1 in district play.

Lady Rams beat Bells
The S&S Lady Ram softball team rolled past Bells with a 12-0 final Friday night on the road. 
Hayden Mowrey threw a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks.
She also went 4-for-4 with five RBIs and scored three times.
Lily Nunn went 2-for-3 with two doubles, walked and scored twice.
Hannah Foster went 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored.
Hayden Kight went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Brooklyn Sterling singled, drove in a run and scored three runs.
The win took S&S to 15-0 on the year. 
They had a bye on Tuesday and travel to Blue Ridge tonight.

Lady Cats clip Callisburg 
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat softball team were big winners over Callisburg Tuesday, April 1 with a 26-7 win on the road. 
Avery Howerton went 3-for-4 with three home runs, walked, drove in seven and scored four times.
Bradi Gallaway went 3-for-3 with two doubles, walked, drove in five and scored three times.
Tylar Olsen went 3-for-4 with a homerun, two RBIs and scored three runs.
Cam Ortiz went 2-for-3 with a double, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Reagan Downs went 2-for-3, walked, drove in two and scored four times.
Breighlin Rupert singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored three times.
Jenna Cole singled, walked and scored four times.
The win took Whitesboro to 14-7 on the year and 7-1 in district play.
Jai Leigh Partridge singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored twice for Callisburg.

Lady Rams top Pottsboro
The S&S Lady Ram softball team is seemingly unstoppable. 
They are undefeated on the year after a 16-0 win over Pottsboro April 1 on the road. 
Hayden Mowrey threw a perfect game with eight strikeouts.
She also went 3-for-3 with a triple, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Brooklyn Sterling went 2-for-3, walked and scored.
Tynslie Adcock and Izzie Talamantes each doubled, walked, drove in two and scored once. 
Lana Walters singled, walked, drove in two and scored three runs.
Hayden Kight singled, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Hannah Foster singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Bri Fowler singled, walked twice and scored twice.
Lily Nunn walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
The win took S&S  to 14-0 on the year.  

Bearcats beaten by Boyd
The Whitesboro Bearcat baseball team came up short, 10-0, against Boyd Tuesday, April 1 at Gainesville in district play. 
Dax Martin singled.
Troy Randall and Jacob Knight both walked.
The loss took Whitesboro to 7-10 on the year and 4-2 in district. 
Both district losses were to Boyd as the Bearcats started Tuesday’s double header with a 6-0 loss.

Pirates pound Bulldogs
The Collinsville Pirate baseball team kept their win streak alive on April 1 with a 9-0 win over Tioga at home. 
Senior Garrett Trevino threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks.
He also went 2-for-2 and drove in a run.
Jaxon Spivey went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and scored once. 
Peyton Davidson went 2-for-4 and drove in a run.
Paxton Davidson doubled, walked, drove in two and scored once. 
Jaxon Jenkins singled and scored twice.
Caysen Schafer singled and scored once.
The win took Collinsville to 14-3 on the year and 9-0 in district play. 
Gage Anderson and Hayden Roberts both doubled for Tioga.
Johnny Dorpinghaus, Sam Mott and Luke Roberts walked.
The loss took Tioga to 7-9 on the year and 2-7 in district play.

Tioga ladies top Collinsville
The Tioga Lady Bulldog softball team held onto their second-place district ranking after a 13-11 win over Collinsville last week on the road. 
Kenzie Powers went 4-for-5 for Tioga with two RBIs and scored four runs.
Kyndall Whitley went 2-for-2, walked three times, stole five bases and scored three runs.
Bella Dennis went 3-for-5 with a double and scored twice.
Kennedy Slay went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and scored twice.
Emerson Moore went 2-for-3, walked and drove in two runs.
Aly Salinas singled, walked, was hit by a pitch and scored once. 
The win took Tioga to 14-7 on the year and 9-2 in district play.
Jaydee Matlock went 4-for-4 for Collinsville with three steals and scored four times.
Tessa Vannoy went 2-for-3, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Bailey Miller went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and scored once.  
Rilee Stewart went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored once.
Hailey Germany drove in two runs. 
The loss took Collinsville to 4-15 on the year and 3-8 in district play.

Rams routed by Gunter 
The S&S Ram baseball team was swept by Gunter Tigers last weekend in a double-header at home. The first game’s score was 10-0. The second was 14-0.
Major Milam walked and Eli Nortman was hit by a pitch for S&S.
The losses took S&S to 4-11 and 0-8 in district play.
They traveled to Leonard Tuesday. Results were not available as of press time.

Rams run well at Whitewright 
The S&S girls track team earned a third-place finished last week at the Bonham Warrior Relays.
The Lady Rams totaled 83.5 points to finish behind champion Wolfe City (119 points) and Bonham (102 points).
The S&S 400 relay of Addyson Russell, Trinity Vidrine, Lillian Vickery and Tabi Jordan was fourth in 56.19 seconds. 
The Lady Ram team of Emily Bullard, Vickery, Izzie Talamantes and Meeks was third in the 800 relay in 1:55.13.
Gentry, Bullard, Talamantes and Meeks were fifth in the 1600 with 4:41.03.
Bullard won the triple jump at 32 feet, three inches. 
On the boys side, S&S took sixth with 34 points.
Joe Orr was fifth in the 400 with a time of 56.25 seconds.
The S&S 400 relay of Gentry, Hunter Courville, Vega and Orr was the runner-up in 45.03 seconds. 
Orr was fifth in the high jump at five feet, six inches.

Bulldogs take 1st at Ponder Invitational
The Tioga Bulldog track team took first place last week at the Ponder Invitational with 158 points. 
Sam Mott was the runner-up in the 100 with a time of 10.71 seconds.
Jake David was fifth in 11.02 seconds.
Austin Norwood won the 200 in 22.29 seconds.
Mott won the 400 with a time of 51.12 seconds.
Kyson Kirkland took third in the 800 with a time of 2:09.32.
Garrison Black won the 1,600 with a time of 4:51 and the 3,200 in 11:06.11. 
Alexis Santoyo-Pina was the runner-up in the 1,600 at 4:58.41 and the 3,200 in 11:23.69.
Raul Chavez finished fourth in the 300 hurdles in 44.43 seconds.
The Tioga 400 relay of Greeley McAden, Mott, Quesyn Arrington and Norwood took second in 43.64 seconds.
Justin Arrington, Norwood, Quesyn Arrington and McAden won the 800 relay in 1:30.8.
Quesyn Arrington, David, McAden and Justin Arrington won the 1,600 relay in 3:23.12.
David was the runner-up in the long jump at 18 feet, 10 inches. 
Jayson Stogner won the pole vault by clearing 11 feet, six inches.
Cason Serna was fourth at 44 feet, eight inches.
Jesus Molina was fifth at 41 feet, one inch.
On the girls side, Tioga took seventh place with 41 points. 
The 400 relay of Bella Dennis, Kyndall Whitley, Addyson Lange and Ella Norwood was fifth in 52.45 seconds.
Dennis, Lange, Whitley and Norwood took third in the 800 relay in 1:53.18.
Whitley won the long jump at 15 feet, seven inches.
Norwood was fifth at 14 feet, two inches.
Lindsey Byler was the runner-up in the discus with a throw of 102 feet, nine inches and fourth in the shot put with a toss of 32 feet and three quarters of an inch.

Pirates top Whitewright 
The Collinsville Pirate baseball team defeated Whitewright 10-5 on March 29 at home for their 48th straight district victory.
Paxton Davidson went 2-for-3, was hit by pitch twice and scored three runs.
Caysen Schafer went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Peyton Davidson was 2-for-2, walked twice and scored three runs. Jaxon Jenkins was hit by a pair of pitches, walked, drove in a run and scored once.
Cash Morgan doubled, walked and drove in three runs. 
Garrett Trevino doubled and drove in two runs.
The win took Collinsville to 13-3 on the year and 8-0 in district play.
