Collinsville High School’s (CHS) Sarah Davenport is the recipient of Holiday Chevrolet/Texoma Chevy Dealers’ Texoma Excellence in Fine Arts Scholarship.
On March 28, Holiday Chevrolet Manager Ronny Gregory presented Davenport with a check for $1,000 for her ongoing dedication to and outstanding achievements in fine arts. She has been involved in theater and One Act Play for six years, as well as Speech and Debate for two years. Her resume includes being an All-Star Cast Member in One Act Play, UIL State Congressional Debate Finalist, National Speech and Debate Association Qualifier and a member of the CHS Speaking Team that won the 2A Region 2 Championship. Davenport also placed 5th as a Top Speaker in the State for Cross Examination Debate and has consistently advanced in UIL academic competitions.
Davenport’s commitment extends far beyond the school day. She begins One Act Play rehearsals at 7 a.m., spends countless weekends competing in Speech and Debate tournaments and dedicates her summers to training for the upcoming season.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Davenport was instrumental in helping to establish the CHS Congressional and Cross Examination Debate programs, raising the bar for academic excellence at the high school.
Davenport also excels academically, ranking 1st in her class of 2025. She plans to attend the University of Texas or Texas Tech to study architecture and civil engineering.
“Her dedication, work ethic and leadership in the arts make her a deserving recipient of this scholarship,” Gregory said.
