Lady Rams still perfect 
The S&S Lady Ram softball team bested Gunter Friday night on the road with a 5-0 win and remained perfect on the year. 

Hayden Mowrey threw a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks. She also homered and walked.

Lana Walters went 2-for-4 and scored. Lily Nunn doubled, drove in a run and scored. Bri Fowler singled and drove in a run. Brooklyn Sterling singled and scored once. 

The win took S&S to 11-0 on the year. They traveled to Howe Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.

Lady Pirates top Tom Bean
The Collinsville Lady Pirate softball team beat Tom Bean 12-7 Friday night at home in district play. 

Tessa Vannoy went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple and a double, six RBIs and scored four times. Jaydee Matlock went 2-for-2, walked twice, drove in a run and scored two runs. Sophia Woody went 2-for-3 with a double, walked, drove in a run and scored once. Rilee Stewart was 2-for-4 with a double, drove in a run and scored once.

Bailey Miller doubled and drove in two runs. Hailey Germany singled and scored twice. Reece Elvington doubled, walked and drove in a run.

The win took Collinsville to 3-13 on the year and 2-6 in district play. They hosted Ector on Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.

Tioga tops Trenton 
The Tioga Lady Bulldog softball team topped Trenton 9-2 Friday night at home. 

Abbie Benke allowed two runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts and four walks. She also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Kenzie Powers went 4-for-4 with three triples, drove in a run and scored once. Bella Dennis went 4-for-4, drove in a run and scored three times. Kennedy Slay and Kyndall Whitley each went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice. Kaylee Evans went 2-for-3 with a double.

The win took Tioga to 11-7 on the year and 6-2 in district play. They traveled to Sam Rayburn Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.

Cats, Dogs run well at Aubrey
The Whitesboro girls and Tioga boys track teams both came in second in team standings last week at the Aubrey Relays.

The Lady Bearcats totaled 123 points to finish behind Prosper, which took first with 246.5 points. 

Aubrey was third with 122.5 points and Tioga was fourth with 70 points. Whitesboro’s La’Ney Powell was fourth in the 100 meter with a time of 13.98 seconds.
Jenna Cole was fifth in 14.08 seconds. 

Tioga’s Kyndall Whitley won the 200 meter with a time of 26.60 seconds.

Whitesboro’s Brylee Weddle was third in 26.97 seconds. Whitesboro’s Paisley Blevins was third in the 400 meter in 1:06.29. Ashlynn Warren finished fifth in 1:07.79. Aubrey Beam was the runner-up in the 800 meter with a time of 2:37.21. Blevins was fifth in 2:47.53. Beam won the 1,600 with a time of 6:03.36.

Whitesboro’s Tammy Lopez was the runner-up in the 3,200 meter with a time of 13:31.86. Teammate Jasmin Hernandez was third in 13:33.66. Karen Melchor was fifth in 13:49.64.

Whitesboro’s Alexis Barrios Chavez was fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.07 seconds. Izzy Gabbert was the runner-up in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.67 seconds.

The Tioga 400 relay of Bella Dennis, Whitley, Addyson Lange and Ella Norwood was the runner-up in 52.87 seconds. Whitesboro was fourth in 53.79 seconds.

The Tioga 800 relay team of Dennis, Lange, Whitley and Norwood took second in 1:50.59. Whitesboro was third in 1:54.27.

Whitesboro’s 1,600 relay team was the runner-up in 4:12.83.

Tioga’s Lindsey Byler was the runner-up in the shot put at 31 feet, 10 inches and fourth in the discus at 90 feet, eight and a half inches. Gabbert took second in the high jump at four feet, 10 inches. Beam was fourth and Barrios Chavez was fifth.

Whitley was the runner-up in the long jump at 14 feet, four and a half inches. Norwood was third at 13 feet, 10 inches. Howerton was fifth at 13 feet, one inch. Gabbert finished fifth in the triple jump at 31 feet, seven inches.

On the boys side, Tioga earned 172 points. Aubrey took first. Whitesboro was third with 112 points.

Tioga’s Jaxson Hurst was fourth in the 100 meter in 11.35 seconds. Jake David was right behind in 11.36 seconds. Whitesboro’s Rhet Rudzinski was sixth in 11.69 seconds.

Tioga’s Austin Norwood won the 200 meter with a time of 22.40 seconds. Justin Arrington was the runner-up in 22.98 seconds. 

Tioga’s Sam Mott won the 400 in 51.36 seconds. Hayden Roberts was fourth in 54.82 seconds. Kyson Kirkland was fifth in 55.09 seconds. Bearcat Max Hinsley was third in 53.53 seconds.

Kirkland also was the runner-up in the 800 in 2:06.55. Hunter Cassell was fifth at 2:32.09. 

Tioga’s Garrison Black won the 1,600 meter with a time of 4:49.68. Alexis Santoyo-Pina was third in 5:01.46. Whitesboro’s Zander Brannan was fourth in 5:10.51. Black also won the 3,200 in 10:39.27. Santoyo-Pina was second in 10:52.52. Whitesboro’s Jesus Hernandez Cortez was fifth in 11:46.69.

Jack Hinsley was fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.56 seconds. Tioga’s Raul Chavez was fifth in 18.69 seconds.

Bearcat Wyatt Winchester was second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.14 seconds. Jack Hinsley was fifth in 44.43 seconds. Chavez was fourth in 43.67 seconds.

Tioga’s 400 relay team won with a time of 44.11 seconds. Whitesboro’s team of Cameron Howard, Max Hinsley, Rudzinski and Winchester was third in 45.41 seconds.

Tioga’s 800 relay won in 1:30.48. Whitesboro’s Aidan Brinlee, Rudzinski, Mason Scarbrough and Cameron Howard were third in 1:36.68.

Tioga’s 1,600 meter relay won in 3:23.81. Whitesboro’s Jack Hinsley, Winchester, Max Hinsley and Brannan were third in 3:35.15.

Tioga’s Cason Serna was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, two and a half inches.

Whitesboro’s Elijah Hines was third in the discus at 119 feet, one and a half inches. Aiden LaSalle was fifth with a throw of 116 feet, two inches.

Howard was the runner-up in the high jump. Jack Hinsley was third. Brinlee was fifth.

Brannan won the pole vault with 12 feet. Tioga’s Jayson Stogner was the runner-up at 11 feet, six inches.

Howard was the runner-up in the long jump at 18 feet, 10 inches. Jack Hinsley was fifth at 17 feet, three and a quarter inches.

Tioga’s Kallin Henderson was the runner-up in the triple jump at 35 feet, nine inches. Hayden Watson was fourth at 34 feet, 10 inches.

Bearcats beat Pilot Point
The Whitesboro Bearcat baseball team is on fire. They remained perfect in district play last week with a 7-4 win over Pilot Point at home.  

Tracy Brees and Jacob Knight combined on a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and four walks. Brees also singled, walked and drove in a run.

Dax Martin went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and scored twice. Troy Randall singled and was hit by a pitch and scored. Korbin Ross doubled, drove in two and scored once. Brayden Bomar walked twice and scored once. 

The win took Whitesboro to 6-7 on the year and 3-0 in district play. 

Pirates edge by Whitewright
The Collinsville Pirate baseball team picked up their 45th straight win when they toppled Whitewright 7-2 last week on the road. 

Cash Morgan went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and scored once. Caysen Schafer threw four scoreless innings, allowed two hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Peyton Davidson singled, walked, was hit by a pitch, drove in a run and scored twice. Paxton Davidson went 2-for-5 with a double and scored once. Jaxon Jenkins singled, walked twice and scored once.  Brandon Cantu tripled and drove in a run.

The win took Collinsville to 10-3 on the year and 5-0 in district play.

Tioga tears up Dodd City
The Tioga Bulldog baseball team put on a show last week with a 25-0 shutout win over Dodd City on the road. 

Austin Norwood went 5-for-5 with two doubles, five RBIs and scored four times. Sam Mott went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and scored three runs. Gage Anderson went 2-for-3 with a home run, walked, drove in three and scored twice. Luke Sheppard singled, drove in two and scored three runs. Landon Bingham doubled, walked, drove in a run and scored three times. Slade Babbitt singled, walked, drove in a run and scored three times. Hayden Watson singled, drove in a run and scored twice. Luke Roberts singled, drove in a run and scored once. 

The win took Tioga to 6-6 on the year and 1-4 in district play.

Rams down to Pottsboro
The S&S ram baseball team fell to Pottsboro 11-0 last week at home. 

Brody Colwell and Brightin McNabb both doubled.

The loss took S&S to 4-6 on the year and 0-3 on district play.

Lady Cats best Paradise
The Whitesboro Lady Cat softball team topped Paradise 5-1 March 18 on the road in district play. 

Tylar Olsen homered and drove in two runs. Avery Howerton allowed an unearned run on two hits with eight strikeouts and a walk. She also went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Cam Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a run. Breighlin Rupert doubled and scored once. Bradi Gallaway singled and scored twice.

The win took Whitesboro to 11-7 on the year and 4-1 in district play. They hosted Pilot Point on Tuesday night. Results were not available as of press time.

S&S slams Blue Ridge
The S&S Lady Ram softball teamed remained perfect on the year with a 16-0 in three innings over Blue Ridge March 18 at home. 

Hayden Mowrey threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks. Bri Fowler hit a home run, walked and drove in four runs.  Lana Walters homered, walked and drove in three runs. Lily Nunn went 2-for-2, walked once and scored three times. Izzy Talamantes singled, walked, drove in three and scored twice.

Julia Walbom singled, drove in two and scored twice. Tynslie Adcock singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored three times. Hayden Kight singled, walked and scored twice.

The win took S&S to 10-0 on the year.

Lady Pirates slide to Whitewright
The Collinsville Lady Pirate softball team fell to Whitewright 10-2 March 18 in district play. 

Zoey Kays doubled, drove in a run and scored once. Jaydee Matlock tripled and drove in a run. Sophia Woody walked and scored once. 

The win took Collinsville to 2-13 on the year and 1-6 in district play.

Lady Bulldogs down Dodd City
The Tioga Lady Bulldog softball team topped Dodd City 9-3 March 18 on the road. 

Bella Dennis had a home run, walked, drove in three runs and scored twice. Kyndall Whitley went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and scored twice. Kennedy Slay went 2-for-2, walked and scored once.  Ella Norwood singled, drove in a run and scored once. 

Aly Salinas doubled and scored once. Emerson Moore singled and scored once. 

The win took Tioga to 10-7 on the year and 5-2 in district play.

Local lifters compete at State 
Multiple local powerlifters competed in the State Meet March 15 in Edinburg. 

Whitesboro had an individual top 15 finish at the Class 3A Division I meet.

Senior Sophia Salas was 14th at 114 pounds with a total of 665 pounds. This was the second straight season she finished 14th.

S&S sophomore Layla Khammash finished 11th at 220 pounds with a total of 710 pounds in the Class 3A Division II meet.

Collinsville sophomore Bailey Miller was 11th at 123 pounds with a total of 675 pounds in the Class 1A/2A State Meet.

Lady Cats run rule Ponder
The Whitesboro Lady Cat softball team slammed Ponder 12-0 in five innings March 15 at home. 

Avery Howerton threw a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks. She also went 2-for-3, walked once, drove in two and scored three times.

Bradi Gallaway singled, walked three times and scored four times. Reagan Downs went 2-for-3 and scored once. Breighlin Rupert tripled, walked and drove in three runs. Tylar Olsen singled, walked and drove in two runs. Cam Ortiz singled, walked and scored three times.

The win took Whitesboro to 10-7 on the year and 3-1 in district play.

Bearcats pound Ponder
The Whitesboro Bearcat baseball team topped Ponder 13-7 Saturday, March 15 on the road. 

Brayden Bomar went 4-for-5 with two doubles, walked, drove in three and scored twice. Camden Stephens went 2-for-5 with a double, walked, drove in three and scored once.
Troy Randall went 2-for-4 with a double, walked, drove in a run and scored twice. Korbin Ross went 2-for-5, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.

Jacob Knight singled, walked, drove in two and scored once. Andrew Quick tripled, walked and scored twice. Tracy Brees singled and walked twice. Rhet Rudzinski walked twice, drove in two and scored twice.

The win took Whitesboro to 5-7 on the year and 2-0 in district play.

Pirates top Honey Grove
The Collinsville Pirate baseball team shutout Honey Grove 6-0 at home on March 15.

Jaxon Jenkins threw a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and two walks. He also went 2-for-3 with a double and scored once. 

Paxton Davidson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored twice. Garrett Trevino singled and drove in a run. Cash Morgan walked three times and drove in a run. Caysen Schafer walked twice and scored twice. Peyton Davidson scored twice.

The win took Collinsville to 9-3 on the year and 4-0 in district play.
