Those interested in learning about gardening should consider attending “It’s Never too Late to Garden,” a six-week lecture series held at the Whitesboro Public Library.
Presented by Debra Felske, biodynamic farmer and Master Herbalist and former Master Gardener, the series will take place Mondays from March 3 through April 7 from 1-2 p.m.
Whether you’re new to gardening or are a seasoned grower, this six-part series will guide you through the essential principles of sustainable, permaculture-based gardening. Discover how to cultivate a thriving, productive garden, no matter your space or experience level.
Topics will range from planning a successful garden and laying the foundation to soil preparation and seeding and propagation to growing strong plants and – ultimately – harvesting.
“I’ve heard so many people voice their concerns about the economy and its threats to society, and I just think, ‘You could have a forest of food right outside your door if you know how to plant it,’” Felske said. “I love gardening and am happy to share what I love. Let’s cultivate a greener future, one garden at a time!”
Sponsored by Frances Foy Farm (www.francesfoyfarm.com), the series is free to attend and welcomes gardeners of all skill levels. Attendees may want to bring a note pad and pen to take notes. They can expect to enjoy hands-on activities and practical demonstrations; connect with a community of fellow garden enthusiasts; and take home valuable resources and worksheets.
