Lady Cats on to the next round
The Whitesboro Lady Cat varsity basketball team picked up a first-round playoff win Monday night when they topped Life School Oak Cliff 58-24 in a Class 3A Division I Region II bi-district game at Carrollton Newman Smith.
Allison Eldredge led the Whitesboro attack with 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
Izzy Gabbert had 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Claire Ortiz scored 11 points. Lindsay Hermes offered eight points. Lauren Muntz had seven points.
The win took Whitesboro to 15-16 on the year. They faced Gunter Thursday night in the area round at Celina.

Cats edged by Paradise
The Whitesboro Bearcat varsity basketball team came up short with a 51-48 final Friday night against Paradise on the road in district action.
Max Hinsley led the Bearcat attack with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists. Jacob Knight scored 15 points. Brayden Bomar had seven points and five rebounds. Jack Hinsley offered four points and six rebounds.
The win took Whitesboro to 24-9 on the year and 8-3 in district play. They ended the regular season Tuesday night at home against Callisburg.

Tioga stopped by Alvord
The Tioga Bulldog varsity basketball team came up just one point short Friday night at home with a 48-47 loss to Alvord.
The loss took Tioga to 9-18 on the year and 3-10 in district play.
They traveled to Chico Tuesday night to end the season.

The Collinsville Pirate varsity basketball team picked up a 51-46 home win Friday night over Era.
The win took Collinsville to 5-16 on the year and 3-10 in district play.
They ended their year Tuesday night at Muenster.

S&S slammed by Bells
The S&S Ram varsity basketball team posted a 75-24 home loss Friday to Bells in district play.
Brenden Hammer led the Ram effort with 10 points and five rebounds.
Joe Orr had seven points. Seth Mutz grabbed eight rebounds.
The loss took S&S to 1-25 on the year and winless in district play.
They closed their season Tuesday night at Blue Ridge.

Lady Pirates top Muenster for top seed
The Collinsville Lady Pirate varsity basketball team snuck past Muenster Friday night at Valley View with a 41-39 final in a tie-breaker to earn the district’s top seed for the Class 2A Division I playoff bracket.
The win took Collinsville to 23-7 on the year.
They faced Whitewright in the bi-district round of the playoffs Tuesday at Howe.

The Whitesboro Bearcat varsity basketball team held onto second-place in district after they landed a 68-54 victory Tuesday, Feb. 4 on the road.
The win took Whitesboro to 24-8 on the year and 8-2 in district.
They remained tied with Ponder in the standings and played at Paradise on Friday night.
C’ville clipped by Chico
The Collinsville Pirate varsity basketball team fell to Chico 76-60 on Feb. 4 at home.
The loss took Collinsville to 4-16 on the year and 2-10 in district play.
They hosted Era on Friday night.
Tioga slides to Slidell
The Tioga Bulldog varsity basketball team fell to district leader Slidell 75-39 on Feb. 4 in district play.
The loss took Tioga to 9-17 on the year and 3-9 in district play.
They hosted Alvord on Friday night.
Lady Cats top VV
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat varsity basketball team ended their regular season, and secured a third-place district seed, Feb. 4 with a 55-21 road win over Valley View.
The win took Whitesboro to 14-16 on the year and 7-5 in district play.
They entered the playoffs as the second seed in the Division I bracket and opened bi-district against Life Oak Cliff Monday at Carrollton Newman Smith.
District 13-2A: Collinsville 80, Chico 44
The Collinsville Lady Pirate varsity basketball team ended the regular season Feb. 4 with an 80-44 win at home over Chico.
The win took Collinsville to 22-7 on the year and 11-3 in district play.
They ended the regular season tied with Muenster and Slidell for the top spot in the standings.
Muenster and Collinsville faced off in a tie-breaker game Friday night.
Tioga ladies end with loss to Slidell
The Tioga Lady Bulldog varsity basketball team dropped their season finale Feb. 4 against Slidell with a 49-28 final on the road.
Tioga finished the season 6-19 and 2-12 in district play.
