In the first few weeks of his return to the White House, President Donald Trump has taken decisive and, at times, controversial actions that have ignited national debates. While critics argue these moves are extreme, supporters see them as necessary steps to restore America’s strength, economy and global standing.

One of Trump’s first executive orders mandates that for every new federal regulation, 10 existing ones must be eliminated. Supporters argue this bold move will cut bureaucratic red tape, allowing businesses, especially small ones, to thrive. By reducing unnecessary restrictions, Trump aims to stimulate economic growth, create jobs and make America a more competitive force in the global market.

A key pillar of Trump’s campaign was securing the southern border, and within days of reassuming office, he declared a national emergency to address illegal immigration.

This included sending military personnel to assist the Department of Homeland Security and reinstating strict border enforcement policies.

Defenders of this move argue that it will reduce crime, human trafficking and the economic strain illegal immigration places on American taxpayers. Critics call it excessive, but for many Americans, stronger border control is a long-overdue necessity.

“I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted, and because I don’t want it for my kids, I’m not going to force any other American citizens' kids to do that either.” Vice President J.D Vance said in a CBS interview.

In an effort to prioritize domestic energy production, Trump reversed policies restricting oil and gas drilling and withdrew the U.S. from international climate agreements that he claims unfairly disadvantage American industry. His administration argues that these steps will lower energy costs, create jobs and reduce dependence on foreign energy sources, ultimately strengthening the U.S. economy.

Trump has also taken a firm stance on trade, directing federal agencies to reassess economic relations with China and other global competitors. His administration believes that implementing tariffs and renegotiating trade agreements will protect American manufacturing jobs and prevent foreign nations from exploiting the U.S. economy.

Supporters see Trump’s early executive actions as necessary corrections to policies they believe weakened the nation. Whether addressing economic concerns, border security or government overreach, these measures align with his America First vision. As the weeks unfold, it will be important to assess their impacts and determine whether they truly bring the promised benefits to the country.

For now, one thing is clear: President Trump is wasting no time making his mark on his second term in office.
