They look to finish strong and make plans for the playoffs.

“We’re healthy but we’re in a weird spot in district where we dropped one against Boyd on the road,” head coach Travis Marsh said. “Which puts you in a weird spot to where you don’t know if you’re going to get third or fourth. Or can you upset Ponder and work your way up?”

But Marsh said he feels confident about the final stretch of the season.

“I like the way the girls are playing, they’re playing hard,” Marsh said. “As long as we get in the playoffs, which we’re in a good position to do, we’ll either be the first or the second seed in big school because us and Ponder are the largest schools in the district.”

Marsh said he has seen growth in the program over recent years.

“I don’t think you’re ever happy because I don’t want to get complacent,” Marsh said. “It’s not that I’m displeased. They play hard, they practice hard, they work hard. They do everything that we ask them to do. I just don’t ever want to get complacent and get satisfied and think that we’ve arrived or that we’re where we need to be. I want to keep that edge on them and on the program to where we’re always striving to do better.”

Izzy Gabbert led the Lady Bearcat attack against Callisburg with 10 points and seven rebounds.
