The Whitesboro Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees gathered in a special meeting on the afternoon of Jan. 17, 2025 at noon, with Board President Jeff Patterson presiding.
The meeting was an opportunity for the board to review and approve the district annual financial audit report for the year ending in Aug. 31, 2024.
Steve Davis presented the report and led a discussion that summarized detailed items.
Whitesboro ISD was found to be in compliance with audit requirements applicable to each major program and internal control over compliance in accordance with auditing standards.
The audit report showed the school district to be in good financial standings.
A motion was made by trustee Austin Miles and seconded by trustee Shannon Blake to approve the 2024 district financial audit. The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was also made by trustee Michael Hinsley and seconded by trustee Aaron Park to adjust the committed fund balance as proposed ($2,500,000) designated for construction and $1,158,226 for retirement of loans. The motion carried unanimously.
Board members convened into closed executive session at 12:24 p.m. in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Government Code, Chapter 551, Sub-chapters D and E. Personnel-551.074
They returned to open session at 2:40 p.m. and took no action.
The next scheduled board meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Feb. 10, at which elementary UIL students will be recognized for their accomplishments this season.
