Shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday night, as snowflakes drifted from the sky, the Whitesboro Fire Department (WFD) received a call about a structure fire.
It was reported as a house fire on Hall Street near Whitesboro Intermediate School inside the city limits.

Crews arriving on scene experienced heavy fire to the rear of the structure and a lot of heat and smoke in the home.

Collinsville Fire Department was also on scene working with WFD crews to quickly extinguish the fire.

Events like this in the city also see assistance and response from numerous city agencies, including the ever-present dispatch center, Whitesboro Police Department, the water department and the electrical department.

Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, it appears the fire began on the back porch of the structure.

Everyone made it out of the house safely.
