The North Central Texas Chorale is seeking passionate singers for an uplifting season titled “Showers of Blessings.”
A spring concert will feature beautiful pieces such as “A Blessing” by Jay Althouse; “A Scottish Blessing” by David Blackwell; “A Choral Blessing” by John Leavitt; and “A Gaelic Blessing,”
“The Lord Bless You and Keep You” and “Lord Make Me an Instrument of your Peace” by John Rutter.
The Chorale will create an unforgettable musical experience that will touch the hearts of its audience and spread joy and peace. Join them in this incredible journey of song and blessing.
The group is under the direction of Mr. Clint Kelley, a music teacher at Callisburg ISD. He received his Bachelor of Music from The University of Texas at Tyler. From 2006 to 2007 he worked with the University of Nevada Reno Community Chorus prior to coming to Texas. Mr. Kelley is a creative concert planner who excels at motivating and inspiring singers.
Shirley Hatfield will be the ensemble’s accompanist/organist this season. She has been the Organist-Choirmaster of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gainesville since 2009. Prior to coming to Gainesville, she served as Organist-Choirmaster of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma for 40 years.
Although a majority of Chorale members are from Gainesville, many other cities including Bonita, Dallas, Denton, Decatur, Lindsay, Pilot Point, Muenster, Sanger, St. Jo, Valley View and Whitesboro have been represented. There is no audition required to sing with the Chorale.
Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 7–8:30 p.m. in the Choir Room at the First State Bank Center For The Performing Arts. This building is on the North Central Texas College campus in Gainesville. Rehearsals will begin on Jan. 21.
The Chorale looks forward to adding more singers. If you feel your voice could be the perfect addition to this ensemble, bringing a unique touch to each piece, the group looks forward to making beautiful music together.
