Anyone interested in running for local municipal elections (city council and school board) can file an application between Jan. 15 and Feb. 14.  Early voting will be from Tuesday, April 22 to Tuesday, April 29. Election day will be May 3, 2025.

WHITESBORO
The Whitesboro City Council will have four seats open for election. Each one is a two-year term.

Mayor David Blaylock’s term will end this year, and the seats of aldermen Carla Woolsey and Su Welch will be up for election. Each of those seats is a two-year term.

Alderman John Moore’s seat will be available as a one-year term. Moore was appointed earlier this year to fulfill the remainder of Stacey Miles’ term, who resigned a few months after being elected into office.

The Whitesboro Independent School District’s board of trustees will have two seats to fill, each one a three-year term. The terms of Shannon Blake and Michael Parish are both coming to an end.

Voting for all Whitesboro seats will be held at City Hall on Main Street.

COLLINSVILLE
In Collinsville, terms for Mayor Derek Kays and aldermen Benny McKee and Steve Ritchey are ending. The school board will see Place 6 (Janett Crisp) and Place 7 (Bailey Lahr) seats open, each one a three-year term.

Voting for Collinsville will take place at the Collinsville Community Center.

S&S
At S&S CISD, Place 2 (Brad Colwell) and Place 7 (Saundra Hinsley) seats will be available.

Voting should be available at Southmayd Elementary, but a confirmed location will be announced as election day draws near.

All those interested in filing an application should contact their city hall or school board.
